FAQ

  • What curriculum do you use?
Many! Homeschooling is largely about tailoring education to the interests and abilities of each individual child. This has also had to be modified as abilities, schedules and family logistics change. Some examples you'll see future posts about include programs/products such as: Miacademy, time4learning, Monarch, AOP, Williamsburg Academy and The Good and The Beautiful. As well as supplemental programs/products such as: Outschool, Type to Learn, Typing(.com), Spark Learning Pals, Reading Eggs, Hooked on Phonics, IXL and Adventure Academy.
  • How do you know what to teach?
I always think about what knowledge the age group is acquiring and make a plan to cover it with a variety of approaches. For example health class can be done with a combined effort from educational videos, worksheets, packets from TPT, exploring nutrition in the kitchen or in the grocery store! If you don't know what to teach besides core curriculum, a quick Google search can simplify the process, "What do 2nd graders learn?"
